The Adams County Opioid Abatement Council is comprised of nine voting members, with each sector or department having an alternate. These members are working together to address the opioid crisis in Adams County and were convened in accordance with a State MOU as a result of funding from legal settlements reached with drug distribution companies that fueled the opioid crisis and State’s Attorney General’s office.
Voting members are responsible for prioritizing work to address the opioid crisis in alignment with the state-wide joint framework, making decisions on how to distribute funds from the litigation settlement based on prioritized needs, and identifying policy priorities and opportunities related to addressing the opioid crisis.

Colorado Opioid Abatement Council
The Colorado Abatement Council consists of representatives appointed by the State and Participating Local Governments and will ensure the distribution of Opioid Funds complies with the terms of the Colorado Opioid MOU. They will do this by developing processes and procedures for holding regions accountable to their stated uses of those funds. In addition to the administrative duties of the Abatement Council, they will also be able to “facilitate collaboration between the State, Participating Local Governments, Regional Councils, and other stakeholders for the purposes of sharing data, outcomes, strategies, and other relevant information related to abating the opioid crisis in Colorado [C(4)d Pg.6].”
