Recognition for Colorado County Jails: Medications for Opioid Use Disorder and Connections to the Community

The Colorado Department of Law (DOL) and the Opioid Response Unit (ORU) are pleased to announce the Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) in Jail and Connections to the Community Recognition, a funding opportunity that comes from Opioid Settlement Funds set aside for the State Share. These awards are intended to recognize county jails within Colorado that have shown excellence or demonstrated progress in providing medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and connections to the community upon release.

Work-Based Learning Incentive Program

WBLI provides financial reimbursements of up to $10,000! Rural and/or small businesses are eligible to earn additional incentives of $100. Applications are now open and will be collected on a rolling basis and funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out. The program runs through May 2024.

Clean Air Program (CAP) Grants

In June 2022, Governor Polis signed Senate Bill 22-193 Air Quality Improvement Investments, which authorizes the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) to provide financial assistance in the form of reimbursement-based grants to eligible applicants for the implementation of voluntary industrial and manufacturing air pollutant emission reduction projects in Colorado. The resulting Clean Air Program (CAP) is a competitive grant program administered by CEO, with a total funding amount not to exceed $25 million over the program’s six-year duration, sunsetting June 30, 2028.

The second RFA round is open until March 8, 2024 at 5:00 PM MT.

Grants to Expand Substance Use Disorder Treatment Capacity in Adult and Family Treatment Drug Courts

The purpose of this program is to expand substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery support services in existing drug courts. The program recognizes the need for treatment instead of incarceration for individuals with SUDs. Recipients are expected to provide prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services for individuals with SUD involved with the courts. With this program, SAMHSA aims to improve abstinence from substance use, housing stability, employment status, social connectedness, health/behavioral/social consequences, and reduce criminal justice involvement.

State Pilot Program for Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women

The purpose of this program is to: 1) advance family-based services for pregnant and postpartum women with a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder (SUD), emphasizing the treatment of opioid use disorders; (2) help state substance use agencies provide outpatient treatment and recovery support services for pregnant and postpartum women with SUD; and (3) promote a coordinated system of SUD care within each state.

Advanced Industries Collaborative Infrastructure Grant

The Advanced Industries Collaborative Infrastructure Grant funds collaborative projects that will have broad industry-wide impacts across one or more of Colorado’s advanced industries. Projects fill a gap in the advanced industries and have multiple, collaborative partners.
