RMP’s Policy Priorities

2023 State Legislative Session Underway
January 9 marked the kickoff of the 2023 Colorado State Legislative Session. Among the biggest priorities for legislators this session are talent and workforce development (including addressing talent and labor gaps in critical industries), school funding, housing access and affordability, and expanding awareness of several state tax credits.
Keep an Eye on State Legislation Using RMP’s Legislative Tracker
Over 120 bills have been introduced since the kickoff last Monday.
As in past years, the RMP Backbone Team is keeping an eye on legislation impacting the network’s four priority areas through our state legislative tracker. Relevant legislation will be lifted to RMP’s leadership tables to determine where education and awareness is needed to support decision makers.

Goal 1: Increase the supply of talent to Top Jobs in Critical Sectors
Apply for the Colorado Behavioral Health Incentive Grant
The Colorado Commission on Higher Education solicits requests for funds to support students enrolling in degree and certificate programs focused on treating severe behavioral health disorders, with an emphasis on rural areas.
The deadline for an institution to submit a proposal for consideration is Friday, January 27, 2023.
Goal 4: Distribute funding to reduce the impacts of the opioid crisis
Apply for the Adams County Opioid Abatement Grant
The application for the first round of funding for Adams County Opioid Abatement Grant is open now through January 31, 2023.
