This fall, the passage of Issue 4C for Westminster Public Schools marked a significant win for the district and our community, reaffirming a commitment to advancing educational excellence and opportunity. With 70% of voters in support, this $111 million bond will expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs at the Iver C. Ranum Innovation Campus, giving students access to hands-on learning that prepares them for careers in high-demand fields. It will also upgrade safety and security systems and HVAC systems across all school buildings, creating healthier, safer, and more comfortable learning environments. And it will build a modern PK-8 campus that will specialize in robust STEM/CTE pathways.
Our Civic Influencers actively mobilized the community and shared the importance of investing in public education. Their efforts—grounded in personal and peer experiences—helped underscore how these improvements benefit everyone in the district. Civic Influencers educated over 1,148 community members, families, neighbors, and decision-makers on the long-term impacts of these measures, ensuring that Westminster students have every chance to succeed.
Our Civic Influencers attended community events, created social media content and emails reaching over 6,567 people, secured two endorsements from local leaders, and reached out to voters through canvassing and phone calls. By connecting on a personal level, they helped cut through the noise, showcasing how the bond would benefit the entire community.
This victory is not just about improving school facilities; it’s about enabling more young people to meet the milestones they need for upward mobility. With the passage of 4C, we look forward to a brighter future for youth in Westminster Public Schools.
