Addressing Housing as a Barrier to Cradle to Career Outcomes

At Rocky Mountain Partnership, we are focused on helping 71,000 more young people in our region achieve critical cradle-to-career milestones by 2030. However, a significant challenge to reaching this goal is the housing crisis. Many of our learners and workforce members are working multiple jobs just to afford housing in our community, which creates a barrier to their success.

Why Housing Is Critical to Our Goal

Stable, affordable housing is foundational for young people and families to thrive. Without it, individuals are often forced to make difficult choices, like cutting back on essential needs such as education, healthcare, or food. These pressures can significantly disrupt educational and career outcomes, hindering the growth and prosperity of our community.

By addressing the housing gap, we can help our young people focus on their futures rather than worrying about how to afford a place to live. That’s why housing is such a critical part of our overall strategy to reach the 71K target.
