Latina students, parents, and community leaders from across the region gathered on Monday for the first ever LatinaCon event, an intentional space for building community and connection with students who identify as Latina in Westminster Public Schools (WPS). Participants shared stories about their educational and workforce journeys, had conversations about leadership, and built lasting connections.
The event, championed by WPS, is part of a larger strategy to build community and connection between Latina youth and Latina leaders, and scale Rocky Mountain Partnership’s (RMP) Civic Influencer model across the RMP region. During the event, RMP Community Coalition Council Member Gabriela Chavez hosted a panel for participants to share about their experiences, the advice they would give to Latina students and parents, and the reasons they took a leadership path.
