Adams County Abatement Opioid Council
The Adams County Opioid Abatement Council is comprised of nine voting members, with each sector or department having an alternate. These members are working together to address the opioid crisis in Adams County and were convened in accordance with a State MOU as a result of funding from legal settlements reached with drug distribution companies that fueled the opioid crisis and State’s Attorney General’s office.
In addition to our core work, we have been engaged by Adams County to facilitate initiatives aimed at addressing the opioid crisis. This collaboration involves supporting the Adams County Opioid Abatement Council, which is tasked with prioritizing and distributing funds from opioid litigation settlements. These funds are essential for implementing programs focused on addiction treatment, recovery, and prevention efforts within the community.
Our role includes fostering collaborative discussions among council members, driving data-informed decision-making, and ensuring that the voices of community members impacted by opioid addiction are heard. By leveraging existing infrastructure and resources, we aim to maximize the impact of these funds to effectively combat the opioid epidemic in Adams County and enhance community well-being
Voting Members
Voting members are responsible for prioritizing work to address the opioid crisis in alignment with the state-wide joint framework, making decisions on how to distribute funds from the litigation settlement based on prioritized needs, and identifying policy priorities and opportunities related to addressing the opioid crisis.

Colorado Opioid Abatement Council
The Colorado Abatement Council consists of representatives appointed by the State and Participating Local Governments and will ensure the distribution of Opioid Funds complies with the terms of the Colorado Opioid MOU. They will do this by developing processes and procedures for holding regions accountable to their stated uses of those funds. In addition to the administrative duties of the Abatement Council, they will also be able to “facilitate collaboration between the State, Participating Local Governments, Regional Councils, and other stakeholders for the purposes of sharing data, outcomes, strategies, and other relevant information related to abating the opioid crisis in Colorado [C(4)d Pg.6].”
