Jacob Suniga-Chavez is a Diesel Technician with two years of experience working in the industry. Born and raised in Colorado, Jacob graduated from Mountain Range High School in the Adams 12 School District. Jacob was a four-year student athlete for Mountain Range High School’s basketball program and was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) his sophomore year. While in high school Jacob attended Future Forward at Washington Square, which is Adams 12’s Career Technical Education (CTE) program where he completed 2 years of Diesel Technology and 1 year of Welding Technology. Jacob is attending Community College of Aurora where he is furthering his studies in Diesel Technology and will receive his Associate of Applied Science degree in June of 2024. He is passionate about not deterring the next generation of students from the trade industries. Jacob is involved in our organization because he was a student representative for his Diesel Technology program and wants to expand the support for CTE programs in high schools. He also wants to support parents and students, by sharing his experiences as someone who completed 2 CTE programs while in high school. He credits his Diesel teacher, Ian Matje for igniting a passion for the trade industry and supporting him with opportunities that allowed him to excel in the diesel industry. His basketball Coach Christopher Morgan taught Jacob discipline, focus, time management and the drive to succeed in whatever he sets his mind on.
