The Rocky Mountain Partnership was recently featured in Kids Impact Initiative’s new fact sheet, “Youth Impact Assessments: Putting Kids Front and Center in Policy Discussions.“
Last fall, RMP mobilized a community coalition to help 27J Schools pass Ballot Initiative 5B, which will provide $17.7+ million annually to the third least funded school district in Colorado for career and technical education, teacher compensation, and school safety. A critical component of our strategy was to leverage a youth impact assessment to inform our Coalition’s action out in the community. Kids Impact Initiative provided technical assistance to RMP around this.

The Coalition used the impact assessment to amplify the voices of young people and families and successfully persuaded voters to pass a school funding measure that had faced defeat seven previous times. This remarkable victory will infuse tens of millions of dollars each year into one of Colorado’s most underserved school districts.[/perfectpullquote]Click the button below to view the fact sheet.
