ACYI is not only a local partnership working to see the success of kids and youth in Adams County, but also part of a national network of organizations who are also working for youth success across the nation. Our national network organization, StriveTogether, held it’s annual convening in Seattle, Washington recently, and the TEGA program was a highlight of the event.
One of the most vital aspects to seeing the success of ALL youth is working to hear from the youth the community serves.
StriveTogether, and its network of partner organizations, are focusing in on harnessing the voices of this population, and ACYI’s TEGA program is a champion in this work. Not only was the TEGA program highlighted as part of the opening session of the convening, but was also a featured workshop. Additionally, the four TEGAs who accompanied the ACYI team on the trip did 44 interviews of convening participants and facilitators to capture the work that other StriveTogether partners are doing. Dozens of convening participants came to the workshop that ACYI and GirlEffect facilitated and expressed interest in TEGA as a means of collecting information about the needs of their communities.
