Project 3: Co-Locating Services
What Is The Goal Of This Project?
This project, as part of the Rocky Mountain Partnership’s (RMP) goal to increase the availability and accessibility of attainable housing, is to bring workforce, educational, housing, and basic needs services to where community members live, work, and learn (Co-Locating Services).
This project supports our current and future workforce on their journey to top jobs in this region to have better access to critical housing, education, workforce, and basic needs services in the most effective way. Specifically, the project aims to:
- Improve housing outcomes for families in school districts within the RMP Region (beginning with Adams 12) by improving how housing services are meeting people where they live, work, and go to school
- Improve educational and workforce outcomes for families living in affordable housing communities (beginning with Maiker Housing Partners) in school districts within the RMP Region (beginning with Adams 12) by improving how services are meeting people where they live, work, and go to school
What Does Co-Locating Services Mean?
Co-Locating Services is when critical supports that community members need (Including educational, skills building, workforce development, housing, and basic needs, and others) are located where the community members who need them live, work, and go to school.
How Does It Work?
This effort brings together housing providers, workforce development, K-12 systems, and basic needs providers to bring services directly to community members so they have the support they need to thrive in the workforce. Specifically, this effort is:
- Bringing workforce supports, such as workforce development and skill training programs, to affordable housing communities
- Bringing educational supports, such as tutoring programs, to affordable housing communities
- Brining housing services (including vouchers, navigation support, etc.) to school districts
- Working with community members living in affordable housing communities to build trust with residents so they can access critical educational and basic needs services
