Collective Work Updates

To date, The Partnership has prioritized five initial areas of work towards improving economic and social mobility. View updates from each area below.

Credential Attainment and Work-Based Learning

An action team kicked off in early August to support coordination of existing navigation and wraparound services along a community members’ journey to attain a credential.

This action is currently in the process of identifying the specific data points it will track drive their work and measure.

Equitable Hiring and Retention

The partnership is working alongside other organizations in the state to finalize a call to action to partners and the community to build on and implement equitable hiring and retention pratices in their own organizations.

Employers of any size will have the opportunity to publicly pledge their commitment to implement this call to action closer to the end of September.

Housing and Education

The Housing and Education Core Team is launching a landscape assessment of the community’s current state when it comes to housing and education.

This landscape assessment will work hand in hand with the public funding pilot underway, which is working to understand where public dollars are currently being allocated, where gaps exist, and what action is needed to close those gaps.

It will also become part of a larger data dashboard that will support the team to understand where additional opportunities exist for advancing cross-sector collaboration between housing and education sectors.

Youth Mental Health

Since the release of a youth mental health call to action by Partnership earlier this summer, partners have reached out to express interest in launching collective work around improving access to youth mental health services.

A small group will be meeting in September to begin work to understand how youth are currently being connected with resources, determine specific opportunities to improve these connections, and develop an initial action plan and timeline.

State Policy and Legislation

The policy and Legislative Advisory Network Core Team met in late August to develop a rough list of potential policy priorities for 2022.

These identified priorities will be taken community members most impacted to further inform, and researched, polished, and presented in draft form during the next Core Team meeting.
